This is the Luftwaffe version of the Feldgendarmerie gorget. There are various rubs to the luminous paint. Paint losses to the eagle tail and wing and wear to the rear Luftwaffe grey / blue backing cloth. The chain is full length and intact. The nickname for the Feldgendarmerie was the ' Chained Dogs '. Third Reich K98 Long Dress Bayonet Lousy Condition
WW2 German Dress Bayonet in bad condition, the plating is missing in places. The grip on one side is cracked in two places. The spring mechanism is missing. The scabbard has a light crease and areas of paint missing. There is no makers mark which possibly means late war. The Blade fits tightly within the scabbard. Mess, regimental plate made by Spode 1805/33.
The centre of the reserve shows a circular strap enclosing
a St.Edward's Crown over White Horse of Kent over Invicta.
