Operation Longstop Parachute Brigade Exercise

2nd Parachute Battalion mass training exercise on Salisbury Plain on two days 22nd & 23rd September 1947. In front of the world press 700 parachutists, jeeps and 6pdr anti tank guns were dropped from 46 Group Dakotas and Halifax. 3,000 personnel were involved and all overseen by Air Marshal Lord Tedder and Field Marshal Lord Montgomery.
